Himachal express be extended upto Pune as full fledged train with all classes of accomodation and may be run via WR- along Diva Vasai route to Pune. This route is shorter than CR. There is no direct train to Himachal Pradesh form Pune. the train can be terminated at Una in HP

if train passes thru KR , the distance is reduced by about 250 kms. If you use Cr route then again the train will have to pass thru Manmad daund route-which is single line.
Kr route starts from Vasai-diva-Panvel.Now rls have laid a new route for pune from Panvel-whichis called Panvel-karjat Lonavla route. This route reduces congestion of trains at kalyan, besides it reduces distance between Vasai and Pune by 100 kms.
most people say, and the konkan railway website, that the route of kr is in between roha and thokur
