You are right Mr Raghavan. There is an anomaly here as pointed out by you. Even if the Railways are short of 2S rakes, and they are using Sleeper rakes, they should be charging only 2S fares rather than sleeper.
As for the other answers given, let me remind you that sleeper is available supposedly, rpt supposedly, between 9.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. ! And if as a traveller I refuse what then ?

Raghavan has pointed out a good anomaly. But to accuse railways of what he is saying is also I think not quite correct. Perhaps this has escaped the attention of the powers that be. Hopefully this posting will merit the attention of those from the Railways who are possibly monitoring these kind of sites! I know they do! Let's see.

THAT I HAD TRAVELLED ON 14TH BY THIS TRAIN ON COACH NO. S-7 AND
ALSO FIND THAT THERE ARE 11 RESERVED SLEEPER COACHES WITH EACH
OF THEM CARRIED AROUND 15 TO 25 PASSENGERS ONLY. WITH POOR
RESPONSE DUE TO COLLECTING SLLEPER CHARGES FOR DAY JOURNEY I

MOST OF THE PEOPLE NOT PREFERRING THIS TRAIN. HENCE IT IS
BETTER THAT RAILWAYS SHOULD TAKE INIATIVE TO CONVERT THIS TRAIN
AS SUPER FAST TRAIN ALONGWITH CHAIR CAR FACILITIES.
