This station has total 4 platform. platform no.1 is mostly used for journey between VRI and SALEM jn and back. No.2 is used for all movements from TPJ towards Chennai and N0.3 is used for the otherside journey and mostly platform No.4 is used as standby for other platforms. This station has a small cafe between platform 3 & 4. Morning Tea is mostly better. other eatables are also decent. This station has a RESERVATION counter with 2 windows and mostly only one window is manned. SBI ATM, Auto stand, Taxi stand are other facilities available here. Distance between Railway station and bus stand is some 2-3 Kms distance, from where you can avail bus services at frequent and regular intervals to the near by areas like Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Jayamgondam, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Veppur, Attur, Salem, Ulundoorpet, Neyveli (My Home Town) and for few other villages around it.
