Today I booked a ticket for a Senior Citizen in train #2836 on 25-06-2010. Before booking, there were 8 tickets available. Once booked and the ticket was confirmed, the availability was still 8. But, the quota mentioned the code as 'SS'. Does this mean that the Availability in the general quota (8 in this case) is different from the quota SS ?
Yes-SS quota means Lower berth quota allottable only to wpmen above 45 and men above 60 years travelling alone-when General quota is in waitlist chances are there that tikctes are still present in SS quota-it is a seperate quota for Senior citizens only
The ticket you booked was from Sr Stzn quota
hence availability was 8 again
hence availability was 8 again
