Well, the poster above me wrote that it broke due to heat. I just wanted to confirm it. If summer heat was an issue, then Shatabdis couldn't be running on Indian tracks since multiple decades.

Agreed 💯 % .. Very difficult to belive. So offically the glass pane broke due to heat. We cannot say what the actual issue was till it comes from horse's mouth.

If the reason is heat then ICF and its suppliers are to be blamed for poor quality production and strict action needs to be taken immediately.. If not then the issue needs to be investigated further.

Hard to believe if fitting was proper. Chennai to Kolkata whole route follows the Coromandel and Utkal Coastline where temperatures are lower than interior parts. Humidity ofcourse shouldn't be a factor at all. Even if we consider continuous 65°C exposure, it is impossible for dual pane glass to even crack.
