If we compare the overall performance of a WAP-5 and that of a WAP-7, which one is better?

Both are better than other WAPs. Both are, I think, the best locos of IR.
P-7 is better when you consider the acceleration. P-5 is better when you consider the speed factor. So, both are equals and none of them is better than the other,
Everyone is best!!
They all are meant for different purpose & perform best under that circumstance!!
The current lot havnt beaten performance of old generation Loco's yet!!
