The Madras Railway Company set up this railway station in the year 1863 and it served as the terminal for the region for long until before the Coimbatore Jn took over the position.
Podanur, which was once one of the Divisional Head Quarters of SR, lost it's status when the HQ's was shifted to Olavakkode near Palakkad. The sizable Anglo-Indian descendants...
