I know that one can get his ticket transferred in the name of his mother. I want to do it. I wish to know what is the procedure? Mine is an e-ticket.

theoretically approach prs with ration card(to prove the relationship) and other id details.

Contact Chief Reservation Supervisors with requisition letter, E-ticket printout, both your and mothers ID card and proof for relationship (ration card etc).
The rule states "Where the passenger makes a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train that the reservation made in his name be transferred to another member of his family, meaning Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Husband and Wife."
