Karur Salem new line is now made operational. But still majority of trains make a roundabout long journey touching erode. Will not diverting trains save fuel, valuable time and fare for passengers
Wait till the new TT is released. It takes time to work out schedules, passages, timings at originating stations, intermediate stations, turnaround stations, and route stations, crossings from the other end. It's not as easy as just switching on your new tubelight in another area of the room, instead of the one you are used to. This is said to ILLUSTRATE the difficulty of re-routing trains. What about the person who has booked under the old system of 90/120 days who's going to ED, and suddenly finds that the train is NOT going to ED ? What should he do ? think, sir, Think. And take this post in the right spirit.
Thanks for your guidance. But my point is as erode salem is a traffic congested line diverting some of them will help travellers both ways. It is in the interest of the travellers such measures are to be taken at the earliest which will save time energy for both the passengers and IR. My suggestioin is to prioritize diversion before the onset of festivals so that more festival specials can be introduced.
Tickets have been issued 4 months in advance-so till August 2013 you cant expect diversions to be made-so such news of diversions might come in june end or july mid
For the sake of a few persons who booked to erode all others who travel all the way have to suffer the loss of time, fare, and for railways wastage of fuel and dis saving of running trains in the congested route. In the cyber/computer driven railways operations, planning diversion of trains may be possible in a short time if some efforts are taken in the right perspective. After laying of new line with hefty investment, if it is not put to early usage it amounts to loss to IR. After all the organisation strives to provide maximum comfort to the travelling public by maneuvering its management.
If you booked and train was diverted will you accept it?? Be a bit practical-Its happened all these years a few more days will not create much more harm
