Under the presumption that you are asking about Coupe in 1AC.
This is allotted at the time of chart preparation and not at the time of booking the ticket. If you have 2 passengers travelling on 1 PNR then the likelihood of you getting a 2 berth coupe is high. Similarly 4 passengers on 1 PNR could get the 4 berth Coupe.
However do note that 1 AC is subject to VIP movements too. So if a VIP is travelling preference is given to them for the coupe allotment.
