Nice Move by Railways.
A-->B--->C
No need to run for Change in Boarding Point from 01.08.2013 in case you plan to Board at B but due to non-availability you book from A to C. now one can change at time of booking only.

once u change ur boarding point in IRCTC site and make a payment and a PNR is generated, ur boarding point is get noted in IR system.. for any doubt u can also check ur PNR in INDIAN RAILWAY website, which will show ur booking station, boarding station and destination station.. so when things got recorded in system, there is NO ROOM and NEED for any endorsement from any one.
Thanks again, Doshi ji, for your clarification. My doubts (rather, anxieties) have now been set at rest, thanks to this forum and its members.
And, yes, both the PRS and the Indianrail website's PNR page do clearly mention my ticket as:
From: PALAKKAD (PGT) To: SECUNDERABAD JN (SC)
Boarding: COIMBATORE JN (CBE)
Resv Upto: SECUNDERABAD JN (SC).

What IndiaMike link says is their understanding.
What is given on IRI is based on IR rules and practice.
And you have experienced from your booking ticket from PGT to MAS with BP as CBE. Status is now RAC, but should be CNFM.

Kishor ji, as per your advice, I've posted my PNR query (at the PNR forum) just now .. entry no. 840750

And, I shall definitely post my experience after my journey is over -- if only to assure members who intend to use the facility of boarding point change at the time of booking (under the new rules). Thanks.
