The new train No.18519 announced in the current budget to run daily between Visakhapatnam and Mumbai LTT, I hope, will run from Sept.10 without any hitch since the Machilipatnam-Mumbai train as announced by the then Rly. Minister Mr. Lalu Prasad, has not yet commenced its journey till to=day and constrained to comment that the Railway Board or authorities at the helm of affairs are conferring the announcements in Parliament as faux pas.
The Railway administration needs to be considered the following suggestions for the convenience of travelling public.
The terminus may be

changed to PANVEL, NAVI MUMBAI instead of Mumbai LTT since the LTT terminus is in a remote place and not properly connected by roads for easy movement of vehicles as experienced by me several times. Where as Panvel is easily accessible to NH 4 and local rail terminus for Harbour line which facilitates freely and happily commute to all parts of Mumbai unlike LTT. The rake will stay hardly for 2 hours before commencing return journey and no infrastructure is required to handle the train with same engine unlike LTT.
For Panvel terminus, the train can be run on chord line from Karjat. In case the train is run via Kalyan.
Schedule Halt may be arranged for this train at Kalyan for the convenience of the public. Even otherwise the train invariably maintains unscheduled halt for the sake of railway employees.

panvel station is easily accessible? have you really been there? or are you saying this since you live closer to panvel.
connectivity to ltt is a problem I agree if you are coming from the western suburbs. however some of it will be eased once the santa cruz chembur link road is opened. also, it will cost much lesser to build a few roads leading to ltt from the eastern highway rather than building a whole new terminal at panvel.
Moreover Panvel is almost 60 kms from Mumbai by road. add to

You are exactly opposite.PNVL is accessible only from Central and South Mumbai.Thane, kalyan and beyond kalyan will have to go through "hell" to go to PNVL. Instead LTT is easily accessible with respect to Panvel. Moreover,KYN halt is there so no worries.PNVL is not suitable as terminal station. It will also not feasible to run on KJT-PNVL-DIVA-LTT line.

I am a resident of Vijayawada in A.P. Often I visit Mumbai to see my children at Panvel. I have experienced the hardships at LTT at present. I prefer Karjat to board the train instead of LTT due to traffic bottle neck. I am not aware of the future developments as enumerated and how the instant problem will be solved after developments needs to be examined. In a stratigic junction, terminus is arranged in the outskirts of the city. Likewise Bandra, Ltt are arranged, why not Panvel. For growing cities, it is essential taking consideration of the situation.

When the Manmad-Pune Exp train is running on Kalyan-Panvel-Karjat-Pune route, why not this train provided the other factors are feasible. Positive thinking is anticipated for Panvel terminus for the benefit of south bound travellers to and from Navi Mumbai.
