No subway but the exit from PF to the road is via a Subway and then will have to cross the road across to reach the airport.
yes unlike in mumbai fast locals are very less in Chennai. hence most or almost all of them stop.

Right on GST Road that divides MAA and TLM. Probably the best and easiest way to get to MAA, but a caveat would be that the station is a kind of loner due to the hills on the other side and caution must be exercised. Use as you please during daytime.
The tirusulam hills is the favourite place to show kidnapping scences in Tamil movies. :-)
