This is the nearest station as of now to the famous Indian Grand Canyon, Gandikota & Mylavaram dam on the pennar river, in the Kadapa District of AP. 28 kms by road from the station. Soon Jammalamadugu would become the nearest station & town once the YA-NDL route becomes operational. Kondapuram is the nearest station as far as aerial distance goes. One can treck down to Kondapuram from Gandikota easily. But Road transport has to go through MOO again.
Kondapuram-Gandikota-Mylavaram-Jammalamadugu is a very good trek route...
