If coming by a passenger train, one can alight at this station and go to Penakacherla Cross. from there one can take APSRTC run ordinary bus services or shared taxis or autos. If coming by an express train one can alight at Anantapur - ATP and take a bus from there which goes to Penakacherla Dam via Garladinne.

This is a popular day outing spot. One can take a boat ride organized by AP tourism in the backwaters of reservoir and spend a pleasure outing. The most interesting and adventures activity is that to reach the back waters, one has to climb the project from the base of the project to the top from infront of the project where steps are constructed with Iron lining. Which would give a breathtaking experience as we keep climbing up.
