The MPS of LHB self-generating coaches is only 120 km/h.
The LHB SG rakes of Shalimar Express had technical problems while mounting alternators on the axles (maybe because of the presence of disc brakes on FIAT bogies, exact reason unknown...).

It's possible. But IR never modified any ALCo with HOG provision.
Oh I see ... so if HOG Concept is applied to Poorva & other trains which were LHBfied recently can go for this concept to get some of their GS Coaches back as they were removed to accommodate EOGs :-o
HOG Locos are out, but RDSO hasn't approved yet after running tests with Kalka Shatabdi.
Few EMD's and only few WAP-7's are there with HOG.
apart from it, in the world too, EOG is mostly used than HOG.

HOG appears to be a better concept than EOG as no seperate requirement of fuel in case of HOG otherwise as LHBs go on rise even diesel requirement would rise.
