RAC means Reservation Against Cancellation. Passengers with RAC tickets can travel in the train (Wait listed passengers cannot travel) and has to share berth with anothr passenger, generally in Side Lower Berth. If berth are vacant during travel, he is entitled to have full berth according to seniority in his coach.
No need of paying extra for berth.
