There is park approx 1.5 KMS away from Madgaon Jn. Its call Aga Khan Children's Park and just near to it there is Govt park. The Aga Khan was closed when we reached there (it was 2 PM) but Govt park was open. There was cool breeze flowing so we sat and enjoyed. The park was clean. Just nearby the park, there is ice-cream shop. Ice cream was really nice. The auto rickshaw charged Rs. 120 from railway station (outside pf 3) and same amount while returning to station. People were waiting just outside the park for buses going to various destinations in Goa
Just outside PF1 there is prepaid taxi stand where you can tell the exact address and book a taxi. We went to Panaji and paid Rs. 1150/- Surprisingly, we booked cab from outside Panaji Bus stand while returning. The cab driver picked us from hotel and dropped to Madgaon Jn in Rs 900/- only.
Famous Murudeshwara temple is approx 2 kms from railway station. One can take auto-rickshaw from station which charge Rs 40 (as of Nov 2019). If your train reaches very early in the morning or late in the night, they will charge Rs. 80 (personal experience). From Murudeshwara, one can also visit Idagunji Ganapati Temple (16 kms from Murudeshwara auto stand). Autos take Rs 400/- for a return trip. NH-17 is few meters from the station but I am not exactly sure of the bus stop on NH17
