metalmint~ 55 blog postsTravelled as a last resort. Except for ticket availability, everything about the train is below standard. Poor cleanliness, stinky toilets which ran out of water, huge delays at stations and no security staff. On the plus side, was not as crowded as most east-bound trains.

metalmint~ 55 blog postsTravelled between SBC and Pune recently and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food available. Left SBC 2 hours late but arrived in Pune on time. Recommended
Prepaid auto counter is available on the left side the exit. Always prefer that over the overcharging parked drivers.
If you are traveling light and want to save some money - here is a tip. Dont go for the prepaid or auto/taxis parked in front and the right side of the entrance. Instead walk straight out , take the stairs until you reach the main road. Now keep walking about 50 metres till you are away from the station and you will see a normal auto stand. Now take any taxi, auto to your destination with standard metre down fare. The railway parked autos never go by the metre and charge almost double.

metalmint~ 55 blog postsI was disappointed by the food. Very limited and bland. The train was also late at all stations. On the positive side, the OBHS staff was very active and coaches were cleaned regularly. Ticket availability is good, but the day I traveled, the 3A coach (B6) was carrying 88 passengers with WL people also traveling. I must admit i have had much more comfortable journeys in 3A. Reaches NZM on PF8 so much easier if you are alighting from the kale khan end.
