New Aurangabad - Ahmednagar railway line is likely to get momentum now. As informed by MoS Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad, instead of constructing entire Pune to Aurangabad line, IR observed that only Aurangabad to Ahmednagar line is more economical and beneficial. Daund to Manmad doubling is undergoing and bypass at Daund is operational now. If railway needs to construct new A'nagar Pune line, the cost of land acquisition will make project uneconomical besides, it will anyways not be possible to directly connect to Pune Jn. Additionally, IR is also eying on freight traffic which it will get on existing alignment. Thus, only Aurangabad to Ahmednagar new line will get push. 👍🙂

Railway line work is going on well between Ashti to Raimoha.Political pressure is not allowing the speedy completion.Unfortunately MoS railways himself does not want this line to be completed.We have written to PMO office about this.
