Pallavan Express skipping Paranur with its regular link.
Even though train was in moderate speed, just as the loco passed by, strong wind pushed me back, which can be noticed as the video will be shaking. (I was not near the train, was sufficiently far from track).

Not sole loco change. 12625 undergoes loco change at Erode as well
For 12626, it is the only loco change

True that they give a fresh(POHed) loco which can take the train to NDLS & back to ERS.
What I meant was the train doesn't undergo any loco change to reverse direction during its entire journey, apart from ERS.

As per the Timing which was said in media. It has to run like Express. It will be reaching PGT around 1PM after leaving QLN at 6.30. Almost 7 hours. Kind of very aggressive TT for passenger run

So I guess this is a good example of the fact that there is no need of the rail budget for announcing new trains. Also I think that last week, there was a time table committee meeting where these things might have played a part

Yes. They have changed it. No more budget and no more random trains based on budgets. Based on study and demands which officials will decide

Yes.. Sajin..But Manorama reported that the initial TT had LR at QLN, ERS, and SRR. Seems like the board rejected the LR at ERS and SRR for the wastage of time and blockage and suggested via ERN and BPZA (SRR bypass).. Let's see..

what a heading.
Chennai: The Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Mail, a star among trains plying through Kerala, will soon be operating with the modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches.
The work on replacing all old coaches of 12624/12623 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast Express with LHB coaches is nearing completion, according to sources in the Southern Railway. The trains will start operating with new coaches on January 18 and 19 respectively.
At present, the only train in the sector equipped with LBS coaches is the 12685/12686 Chennai-Mangalore-Chennai Superfast Express.

Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Mail would comprise one First Class AC-cum Second Class AC LHB coach, two 2 tier AC LHB coaches, four 3 tier AC LHB coaches, 11 Sleeper Class LHB coaches, three Second Class general LHB coaches.
Currently, the train operates with conventional air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned coaches manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory.
LHB coaches developed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany are produced in India by the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala.
Compared to the Rs 1.5 crore required to manufacture a conventional coach, each LHB coach, made of stainless steel, will cost the railways around Rs 2.5 crore. A highly efficient braking system, advanced interior facilities, modern air-conditioning system, and an improved suspension mechanism are the key features of the LHB coaches.

CHENNAI: Passengers shuttling between Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram and other parts of Kerala can rejoice. The hugely popular Thiruvananthapuram Mail, a superfast train, will have German-make Linke-Hoffman-Busche (LHB) coaches from January 18, senior officials in Southern Railway have confirmed.
This will be the fourth express train in the zone, after Mangalore Express, Pandian Express and Rockfort Express, to get LHB coaches.
Sources in the zone say that they have a holding of around 250 LHB coaches. Two rakes of No 12623/12624 Chennai Central - Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Central Mail trains will be converted into

Two rakes of No 12623/12624 Chennai Central - Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Central Mail trains will be converted into LHB stock from January 18.
The composition of Chennai Central - Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Central Mail trains will be revised as: First Class AC-cum-AC 2-tier - 1, AC 2-tier - 1, AC 3-tier - 4, Sleeper Class - 11 & General Second Class - 3 coaches.
LHB coaches are equipped with better safety features as compared to the regular Integral Coach Factory (ICF) coaches. They don't pile up during accidents and are made of aluminium and hence are lighter and can be pulled faster by locomotives.
In addition, LHB coaches are also resistant to jerks and give a pleasant travelling experience. This will come as a relief to regular travellers on the train as it is a 17-hour journey.
Indian Railways is gradually phasing out ICF coaches replacing them with LHB coaches as per the recommendations of the Kakodkar committee report. Officials say lesser lives could have been lost in recent derailments if the committee report had been implemented earlier.
Towards this goal, coach-production companies like ICF in Chennai and Rail Coach Factory (RCF) in Kapurthala have already switched over to LHB-coach production in full-swing.
