Good news for those traveling between bengaluru and Mysore and Bengaluru and HUbli as a new train is being introduced for the benefit of traveling public. This train which is immediately after karwar Bangalore express from Mysore should reduce some burden on karwar Bangalore express. The passengers bound for Bangalore from Mysore should avoid boarding the sleeper class as this is nuisance for long distance passengers coming from karwar

There is a good news in today's Bangalore Mirror (BM). This train i.e., Train No:16515 will be named as Kudla Express will run on the newly laid track i.e., via Shravanabelagola. The new number of this train will be 16576 and will initially run for only 3 days of the week as only one rake is available at present. This will be extended to all 7 days when one more rake is allotted. Good news, as there was no morning train on this new route. One more train around 10 or 10.30 in the morning is needed. Instead of keeping the Hassan Yeshvantpur Intercity Superfast idle till evening, they can make one more trip from YPR around 11'O clock which can return to YPR around 5 PM to resume its hourney at 6.30 in the evening.

This train 16515 will remain as it is for now, via ASK. Kudla Express is a different train.

Oh,I see. I thought the same triweekly train is diverted on new route. What will be the days of service. Probably it will be on those days when T.No:16515 is not running. Or both will run on the same day in two different routes?

Thanks for the information. A good decision by the railways. But in the news paper, the date of commencement is not given. Any idea when it is likely to be introduced?. I think it will have new Deen Dayalu coaches as all new trains now a days is provided with Deen Dayalu coaches. We have to wait and see.

I fully agree with you that a morning train from YPR/SBC to Hassan/Sakleshpur or Mangaluru is the need of the hour. Also, the night train to Karwar should run on this route as it will save almost two hours and the journey time between Bengaluru and Mangaluru will reduce accordingly. Otherwise, it is a waste of huge money invested on this line.

Mar 28 2017 (07:58)   Good response to Hassan-Yeshwantpur train

The Hassan-Yeshwantpur intercity express train, on its first regular service on Monday, saw a good response. The train was almost packed and the departure was delayed by 15 minutes as the railway staff had difficulty in handling the crowd at the ticket counter.
This train was first announced in 1996 when H.D. Deve Gowda was Prime Minister.
Everyday, hundreds of people travel to Bengaluru from Hassan. Considering the number of passengers, the Hassan division of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) had introduced non-stop buses at every half-an-hour in the mornings. With the

introduction of the train services, the KSRTC buses saw a poor response on the first day.
The officials of the corporation are studying the impact of the train services on the bus service.
Naveen Kumar, a resident of Hassan, “We are glad that now Hassan is connected to Bengaluru through a railway line. And, the timing of the intercity train is apt. Many people can travel by the morning train and return by evening. We have been waiting for this service for two decades,” he said.
The passengers had difficulty in getting tickets as only two counters were open on the day. The timing of the inter-city express train clashes with that of the Arsikere-Mysuru train. “As passengers of two trains have to wait in queue for tickets, it is difficult to manage the staff. The officers should open more counters and increase the number of ticket vending machines,” said Prakash, also a passenger.
The train journey to the State capital in the superfast express costs Rs. 85 and would be Rs. 100 in case of reservation.
“The bus fare is Rs. 192 (Rs. 200 for non-stop buses). The train journey works out cheaper than the bus and takes a lesser amount of time. The KSRTC will definitely see the impact on its revenue with the introduction of this train,” opined Prashanth, another passenger.

Good to see that the response from Railway Commuters for the newly introduced Hassan Yeshvantpur Inter city (by the shortest route, compared to other two routes i.e., via Arsikere and via Mysore) has been overwhelming. In the coming days, more people will opt for rail travel as it is both cheap and less time consuming. Hassan Station should gear up to meet this demand.

How can unreserved fare be rs. 100 when the reservation charges are rs. 15? Shouldn't the unreserved fare be rs. 85?

Feb 24 2017 (12:10)   56515/KSR Bengaluru City - Hubballi Passenger (UnReserved)

Earlier, the 6.30 Passenger to Hubballi had half portion Shimoga coaches which were bifurcated at Birur (back 10 or 12 coaches). The main train with Hubli coaches used to go to Hubli and another loco used to take the coaches meant for Shimoga. Has this been discontinued? In the time table of Bangalore Shimoga trains, there is no mention of this. In its return journey it used to leave Shimoga at 2.15 PM. There is no mention of this train in the return journey also. Some one please throw light on this.

Good to see one more night train to Shivamogga. We have to wait for a few days for its pucca timings. However, better if it departs from Bengaluru at 12.00 Mid Night, because Bengaluru Talaguppa leaves at 11.00 PM and two back to back trains within half an hour is not good. Good to see that Shivamogga is getting good priority with regard to introduction of new trains. About 6 months back YPR Shivamogga day express was introduced with LHB coaches (though only 3 days in a week) and now this.

SMET should also get pitlines which would help it to connect trains to other parts of KA like BGM/Vijayapura/Gulbarga.
