Five persons who opposed the ban on jallikattu, and placed concrete slab on railway tracks at Pallipalayam on January 13 were arrested on Monday night.
At 9.30 p.m. on January 13, the engine of train number 56101 Mettur Dam – Erode Passenger hit the concrete slab placed along the Anangoor – Cauvery Railway Station sector. The train was stopped immediately by the loco pilot Anil Kumar.
But no damage was reported to the train and the journey continued after a delay of over 30 minutes.

Railway Police registered a case under Section 150 (1) (a) (attempting to wreck a train by putting stone on railway track) of Indian Railways Act, 1989.
Inquiries revealed that M. Ranjith Kumar (23) of Korakattupallam in Pallipalayam, along with his four friends – M.S. Senthil Kumar alias ‘Kutti’ (32) of Govindampalayam, M. Santhana Krishnan (30) of Kadachanallur, K. Subramani alias ‘Suppi’ Subramani (30), and M. Mani alias ‘Tempo Mani’ alias ‘Thamba Mani’ (25) of Sathya Nagar – placed the slab on the tracks in an inebriated condition.
Later, they watched the train hitting the slab from a distance and ran away.
This is the second incident in recent times. On December 23, 2016, an electric engine of train number 11022 Tirunelveli – Dadar Chalukya Express hit concrete slabs placed on the tracks near Thoppur.

बजने के कारण उन्हें ट्रेन आने की आवाज सुनाई नहीं दी और तीनों ट्रेन की चपेट में आ गए। इसमें मो. उमर के शरीर के टुकड़े-टुकड़े हो गए। उसकी मौत घटनास्थल पर ही हो गई। इस हादसे में घायल मो. सुहैल व मो. सागर को गंभीर हालत में डीएमसीएच में भर्ती कराया गया। वहां पर मो. सुहैल की मौत इलाज के दौरान हो गई। हादसे की सूचना मिलते ही मृतक के परिजनों में कोहराम मच गया। सभी बदहवास हाल में अस्पताल परिसर में भागते-भागते पहुंचे। मो. सागर को उसके परिजन निजी अस्पताल में ले गए, जहां उसकी हालत चिंताजनक बनी हुई है। बेता ओपी की पुलिस व जीआरपी अधिकारियों ने घटनास्थल पर पहुंच कर मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है। आसपास के लोगों की मानें तो इन युवकों की प्रतिदिन रेल ट्रैक पर बैठकर मोबाइल देखने की आदत थी। रोज की भांति सोमवार को तीनों ट्रैक पर बैठे मोबाइल देख रहे थे। देखें ले

In a tragic incident, two dozen cows were run over by 12144 Sultanpur-LTT Express passing through the up-track near Misrod railway station near under bridge on Wednesday morning. The train was delayed by half-an-hour due to the incident.
Locals claimed that 20-25 cows were run over by the train, while police claimed that 16 cows were killed and two were injured. The Railways, however, claimed that only five cows were run over by the train. On the receipt of information, police and Railway officials reached the spot and took out the parts of cows entangled in wheels of train. station around 9.15 am and passed through the Misrod railway station around 9.22 am. As the signal was green, the train was running at high speed. Suddenly, the cows came on the tracks. The Railway staff had to cut the parts of cows.
The train was halted for around half an hour at the spot.
Later, it reached Mandideep station, where it was checked and delayed by another half an hour. PRO Railways I A Siddiqui confirmed the incident, but said that, only five cows were killed in the incident. He said that the train was delayed by half an hour due to it. Sub-inspector G S Rajput said that around 16 cows were killed in the incident and two were injured. He said that the cows came on tracks as the under bridge was blocked. He said that investigations were on in the case. Notably, the Railways started the construction work of the third line and have blocked the under bridge due to which farmers and locals use the tracks to go to their fields.

मेल हादसे पर चार्जशीट नहीं
जुलाई-2011 में ट्रेन को गलत ट्रैक पर डालने के कारण फतेहपुर के मलवा में कालका मेल का एक्सिडेंट हुआ था। हादसे में 70 लोगों की मौत के बाद रेलवे ने जांच के लिए सीआरएस को लगाया था। रेलवे सूत्रों के मुताबिक, सीआरएस की जांच रिपोर्ट को अब तक रेलवे मिनिस्ट्री ने स्वीकार ही नहीं किया है। इस कारण अब तक कथित दोषियों को चार्जशीट तक नहीं दी गई है। सीपीआरओ ने चार्जशीट न दिए जाने की पुष्टि की है।
एक्सिडेंट वाले दिन झांसी से कानपुर के बीच सिर्फ तीन पॉइंट्स पर अलग-अलग कार्यों की वजह से कॉशन ऑर्डर थे। कॉशन एक रुटीन प्रक्रिया है। पुखरायां के पास उस दिन कोई कॉशन नहीं था। - बिजय कुमार, सीपीआरओ

उरई, आटा, कालपी जैसे पॉइंट्स पर भी ट्रैक को कमजोर बताया गया था। भीमसेन से पनकी के बीच जून और अगस्त में ट्रैक की रिपेयरिंग भी हुई थी। हादसे के बाद ट्रैक की स्थिति भांपते हुए ही रेल संरक्षा आयुक्त पीके आचार्य ने एक्सिडेंट पॉइंट पर अधिकतम स्पीड 20 किमी रखने का आदेश दिया है।

इंदौर-राजेंद्र नगर एक्सप्रेस हादसे के बाद कई तरह की चौंकाने वाली बातें सामने आ रही हैं। सूत्रों का दावा है कि रेलवे की एक रिपोर्ट में झांसी से पनकी-कानपुर रेल ट्रैक को कई जगह अनफिट करार दिया गया था। इन जगहों पर अधिकतम स्पीड 30 किमी/घंटा रखने की सलाह दी गई थी। इसके बावजूद राजेंद्र नगर एक्सप्रेस यहां 110 किमी/घंटा की रफ्तार से दौड़ रही थी।

I traveled 5 years regularly on Kanpur-Jhansi Route either by Intercity or Indore-Patna Express and I observed that at some places near Orai, the jerk is too much that if a person standing in the aisle without any support, he may fall down if unable to grasp any support or person. The journey feels like you are traveling in Bus not in the train.

रिजर्वेशन कराया था। उनकी बर्थ एस-2 कोच के 71-72 नंबर आरएसी में थी, जबकि इंदौर के चौपाल विहार निवासी साथी रामू की बर्थ 63 थी। उन्होंने बताया कि शनिवार शाम ट्रेन उज्जैन से चार-पांच किलोमीटर आगे बढ़ी ही थी। जैसे ही ट्रेन स्पीड पकड़ती कोच तेजी से लहराने (हिलने) लगता। स्पीड कम होते ही लहराना बंद हो जाता था। इससे प्रतीत हो रहा था कोच के एलाइनमेंट में दिक्कत थी। इससे लगता है कि कोच की फिटनेस एवं मेंटीनेंस ठीक नहीं थी।

Last month I traveled from Kanpur to Delhi by Unchahar Express. Train was running late by 1 hour. I generally never sleep at night while I travel. When the train crossed Aligarh, I noticed that the speed of train was too high and the coach was vibrating too much, I mean more than normal, and I guess the speed of the train was 110 km/h or above. It was a conventional coach and I thought that these coaches are not fit for high speed run. I was scared so much that I started praying for safe journey and prayed till I reached my destination.

RCF Kapurthala has started the manufacturing ofcoaches to run at a speed of 200-km per hour . This initiative is as per the proposal which was announced by Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Sh. Suresh Prabhu in 2015-16’s Rail Budget.
The new initiative involves the manufacturing a rake of 20 coaches which comprises 14 AC Chair Cars, 03 Executive Chair Cars and 03 Power cars. At present manufacturing of 04 coaches (02 Executive Chair Cars and 02 AC Chair Cars ) is o­n the way at RCF. These coaches of Alstom –LHB configuration , are upgraded with stainless steel brake disc, sintered pads and electro-pneumatically assisted brake system. Other features which are incorporated in these 200kmph coaches include improved passenger safety and comfort. The coaches will have aesthetically pleasant interiors with spacious and ergonomicallydesigned seats. Option for provision of personal infotainment system is also aimed at. Each coach will emphasize o­n safety, and will have fire retardant furnishing besides fire and smoke detection alarms. Balanced Draft Gear Couplers between the two coaches will help in smooth acceleration and retardation of the train.
The lavatories of these coaches will have redesigned interior and equipped with Vacuum Evacuation assisted toilets. The plush interiors will have touchless fittings in taps, hand dryers and soap dispensers besides marble finish and anti graffiti coating o­n walls.
The coaches carrycolour scheme based o­n Cheetah known for its vitality and has been developed in association with National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
General Manager of RCF, Sh. R P Nibariya, is optimistic of the completion of the first consignment of coaches in the next month while the remaining will be completedby next few months.

KANPUR: Divisional commissioner Mohd Iftikharuddin has constituted a 6-member committee to remove all hurdles coming in the way for executing Kanpur Metro Rail project.The committee comprises of ADM (city), additional municipal commissioner, chief Engineer (LMRC), chief engineer (Kesco), chief town planner of Kanpur Development Authority and Neeraj Srivastava as coordinator of the committee.
The commissioner at a meeting held at his camp office on Tuesday evening directed Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) to submit to him the progress report of the project on daily basis. He informed that officials and employees of LMRC and Metro cell of Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) would sit in the office of Kanpur Metro at Vastra Bhawan to be maintained by KDA.

than 80% trains to Bihar and all trains to Uttar Pradesh pass through the infamous Allahabad – Kanpur – Mughal Sarai corridor. Over the years, these three major junctions have been well known to cause massive delays for trains. They are always handling more trains then their capacity. And the situation gets worse each year with the addition of new trains.
Problem lies not in one but three
Your train halting at a station and staying stationary there for a long time is nothing new for Indian passengers. And the passengers have somehow taken that into their strides. The problem with the Allahabad – Kanpur – Mughal Sarai stretch is that you are halted continuously (and that too at three consecutive stations for many trains) for extended times. To understand the severity of the delays let us analyze the on-time score of these three stations:

As you can see, when you enter into this corridor you are assured of a minimum delay of 1 hour. And this one hour, often impacts the end journey time of a train, especially those to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Allahabad – Kanpur – Mughal Sarai route tackles more than 500 long distance trains in any typical day. Apart from that it is also an important route for freight carriages and hundreds ply along this route. So, a delay in this belt causes nationwide ripples. Being the preferred route for West Bengal and Bihar bound trains a delay here can cripple all the trains in these two key states.
If more than 75% of trains to Bihar run with extensive delays, this corridor is mainly at guilt.
Trains to South India are known to be more timely; one reason could be they seldom cross this stretch.
80% of delays for Premium trains such as Rajdhani, Duronto & Shatabdi are caused by this stretch.
First come, first serve
Passengers who are really positive in their thinking would say: “Okay, so the train has been delayed by one hour, but the train can always manage the time!” Let us correct you: it is not so easy for a train which has been delayed, to really make up for lost time. In India, there are always more trains than vacant lines available. So, in 80% of instances (with the exception of Premium, Superfast, Rajdhani and Duronto) once you are delayed, the delay time will just keep on increasing due to the lack of open signals. Which means 68 mins of delay, suffered in Allahabad – Kanpur – Mughal Sarai corridor, can cause more than 2 hours of delay in your end train schedule.
Expect Havoc during Festive Season

Just like other years, Indian Railways will definitely announce a large contingent of special trains to combat the Chhath and Diwali rush. This means, the Allahabad – Kanpur – Mughal Sarai corridor which is already struggling to support their existing list of passing-by trains would be put under more stress. So, the average delays for trains across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal could go up by more than double during the festive season.
There are some problems that the Indian Railways has overlooked for many years, and Allahabad – Kanpur – Mughal Sarai corridor is one among them.

In my opinion, There is a way to get out of this problem specially in Kanpur. Kanpur is one of the major cities and situated on Delhi-Howrah and Lucknow-Mumbai route and the train traffic is increasing day by day making the train delayed by 1-2 hours waiting on the outer of the station to get the chance to be placed on platform. The main problem is, Kanpur has always been ignored by the politicians of our country and the development here is at snail pace. There is a need of New Railway Terminal in Kanpur but no body cares for benefit of Kanpur. There is an Old Cawnpore Railway Station situated on the New Delhi - Howrah Route and if this Station develops as a terminal station then most of the problem will solved in Kanpur Zone. the load of Kanpur Central will also decrease and people will also get benefited....

The Station is also situated near Kanpur ISBT (Major Salman Khan Bus Stand aka Jhakarkati Bus Stand) so it is an added benefit.
Beside This, 2 more line have to be build to flow the traffic smoothly, two for Slow Trains and two for Super fast Trains.

New Delhi [India], Oct. 13: Aiming to reduce travel time significantly, the Indian Railways will ink a pact with Germany for running high-speed trains in the country. Accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, German Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Alexander Dobrindt would be meeting Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.(ALSO READ: Railways plans linking Aadhaar with concessional ticket booking)
As per a senior Railway Ministry official, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the two countries for bilateral cooperation in the rail sector. Dobrindt is visiting India from October 12 to 15. According to railways, it is a follow-up to Prabhu’s visit to Germany in April. The German minister will hold talks with the Railway Minister in Rail Bhavan.

what happened to Spanish Talgo after successful trail? Why you send back the train set to Spain? Lots of money was spend on the Trial of Talgo Trains. what is the problem now? and again a new MOU for speed trail........ DAYA kuchh to gadbad hai.....
