I shouldn't comment here due to my lack of knowledge, par accha hota agar ye train via Hanumangarh-Jaipur-Kota-Bina-Bhopal-Nagpur chalti, jisse ki patronage bhi zyada milta aur average speed bhi zyada rehti.

almost empty Indore-Mhow DEMU lazily approaches Rajendra Nagar(RJQ). After gauge conversion, DEMU trains are taking 1 hour from Indore to Mhow, while metre gauge train took 40 minutes! This has resulted in poor occupancy of these DEMU trains :(

Hmm dekhna hoga Mhow-Sanawad ka alignment kya rehta hai. Sanawad-Khandwa umeed hai time se convert hoga, kyunki ye line ke liye NTPC paisa de chuka hai. NTPC would be constructing a power plant near Sanawad as per news

ho sakta hai NTPC k bajah se SWD-KNW complete hote hi electrification work start kr diya jaye kyo ki BIR-KNW pahele se eletrified hai aur Mathela bypass BIR SWD ko link krne k liye bnaya ja rha hai...

Someone told me on IRI many days back. He said that Sanawad-Bir rail line banna chahiye, which will be more useful than Ajanti-Mathela bypass. Bir-Surgaon Banjari line already hai. Surgaon Banjari is on KNW-ET section. Aisa hone se Sanawad-Bir-Surgaon Banjari link milegi, which will be the shortest route from Indore to Itarsi

One thing I have observed many times is that many trains do not speed up much on Nagda-Ujjain section, jabki section double-line electric hai. Bas ek Gambhir river bridge single line hai. Shayad koi soil related issue hoga....

चूरू - सीकर खण्ड का आमान परिवर्तन के बाद जल्द ही हो सकता है ट्रायल।
उत्तर पश्चिम रेलवे के चूरू - सीकर खण्ड का आमान परिवर्तन का काम पूरा हो चुका है। रेलवे ने जनवरी में ही आमान परिवर्तन कर चूरू - सीकर लाईन को सीकर की मुख्य लाईन में जोड़ दिया था। फिलहाल इस लाइन को 【 सीकर जं 】के प्लेटफॉर्म नम्बर 3 पर जोड़ा गया है जहां पहले से ही ब्रॉडगेज की ट्रेनों का संचालन 2016 से ही हो रहा है।

नम्बर 2 अब MG से BG के लिए बनकर तैयार है। वहीं जंक्शन के मुख्य प्लेटफॉर्म नम्बर 1 पर अभी बहुत काम बाकी है।
मुख्य प्लेटफॉर्म NH - 11 RUB तक आएगा।

जंक्शन पर फिलहाल अवानछिंत इकाइयों को हटाकर समतलीकरण का काम चल रहा है । इसी के मध्य नजर सालों तक सेवा लेने के बाद रेलवे ने Sikar diesel shed को अब तोड़ दिया है। फुलेरा(Phulera) के कुछ सालों पहले BG में तब्दील होने के बाद *सीकर* (Sikar)जं ही जयपुर - चूरु खण्ड में संचालित MG गाड़ियों का diesel shed था।

सीकर जंक्शन से 15 Nov 2016 को MG गाड़ियों का संचालन बन्द हुआ था । वहीं चूरू - सीकर खण्ड 15 Nov 2015 को आमान परिवर्तन के लिए बन्द किया गया था।

चूरू - सीकर खण्ड अब पूर्णत रेल संचालन के लिए तैयार है।
जैसा कि रतनगढ़ - सरदारशहर लाईन को रतनगढ़(RTGH) कि मुख्य लाइन में जोड़ने के 15 दिन बाद ही इंजन ट्रायल कर दिया था उसी प्रकार चूरू - सीकर लाईन का भी ट्रायल फरवरी में ही होने की उमीद है क्योकि इसे भी 20 जनवरी को जोड़ दिया गया था।

जयपुर - सीकर सेक्शन में तो फिलहाल MG signal system खंभे, रेलवे लाइन हटाई है। जयपुर के प्लेटफॉर्म 7 पर खुदाई हो गयी है।
बाकी रींगस जंक्शन पर मुझे लग रहा है बहुत टाइम लगेगा। जयपुर - सीकर 2018 बजट तक कंप्लीट हो जाये तो बड़ी बात होगी।

Thanks for information. Gauge conversion ke baad Ratlam-Ajmer-Phulera-Ringus-Sikar-Churu ek bada useful route ho jayega. Sri Ganganagar side se trains jaipur ko bypass karte huye south aa sakti hain. Uspe bhi agar Indore-Khandwa time se broad gauge ho gaya to sone pe suhaaga :)

Right. Churu, Sikar ki connectivity bhi ajmer bhilwada, Udaipur, Indore, Bhopal se bhi ho jayegi.

Well, if you are practically speaking, then many lines are there in Indian Railways which are catering to few small villages. They should be dismantled with immediate effect, as per your point.

Firstly, to be very clear, NO railway lines 'cater' to small villages. All railway lines connect cities and big towns. Small villages just happen to lie on their alignment.
Secondly, jo ban gaye unhe nahi ukhadna hai. It is sunk cost. Jo nahi banne chaiye unhe banne se roka ja sakta.
Thirdly, Fatehabad (FTD) is my home village my entire paternal family lives and works there. I am in good position to tell this line is not at all required.

A nice question raised by you, which always roamed in my mind. By this logic, Lakshmibai Nagar is a junction. Also, Rau should be a future junction, as Dahod line will join Mhow line there
