This train can be extended to Pathankot which is 109 km from Amritsar. This will ease pressure on Amritsar station which has many trains to maintain and train timings are perfect for extension. Pathankot station has terminal facilities too.
Train can start from Amritsar after loco reversal at 19:30 reach Batala at 20:30, reach Gurdaspur at 21:00 and reach pathankot at 21:45.
In return jorney it can start at 06:00 from Pathankot reach Gurdaspur at 06:30, reach Batala at 07:00 and then reach Amritsar at 08:00 and from there after loco reversal starts
...
at its normal time of 08:15.
In the night at Pathankot it wil have 8 hours 15 minutes for maintenance..
Also Pathankot doesnot have a daily train to Mumbai. So that thisng will be fulfilled too.

Correctly stated. I support such a move.
IMO, write to the concerned divisional manager. This is certainly a good option.

Delhi earlier had only 3 major terminals(not terminus, but stations from trains originate/terminate)
New Delhi, Hazrat Nizammuddin, Delhi. But for the last couple of years two more terminals are coming up.
ANVT -Anand Vihar Terminus is known to everyone
DEE-Delhi Sarai Rohilla is fast becoming a terminal too.
The

DEE is also becoming hub for Rake maintenance for many trains which doesnt start from DEE.
Earlier it was Sapt-Kranti Express & Sadbhawna. Now Sapt-Kranti has been shifted with ANVT Base!!
There must be many trains, getting maintained @ DEE!!

Even Hazrat Nizamuddin as a terminal, then only for south-bound trains to begin with was developed in the early seventies. Can any one say which was the first train to originate from/terminate at Hazrat Nizamuddin.

Recently I travelled by Sec'bad-LTT duronto both to and from Sec'bad and Iam highlighting my experience.
This is one of the short overnight Duronto covering about 775 kms in 12 hours.
The train was hauled by a single WDM3A loco # 177664 series from Gooty shed.
Coach look and feel
-------------------
...

The coaches were neat and tidy.
Journey was comfortable as this train is a brand new train
with the latest coupling technology for jerk free rides.
Punctuality
-----------
The train departed 10 minutes late from Secunderabad but reached LTT on time at 11:05 am.
and on it's return journey left LTT on time and reached Sec'bad 10 minutes late.
Berths
------
Side berths are shorter in width as compared to the normal 6 berth bay
Train management system at Secunderabad is very poor as the train arrived on the platform just 5 mins
before scheduled departure of the train and I was told that coach shunting was in progress.
There was no announcement about the platform number on which the train would depart .
So much for a rajdhani type of train this Duronto is being talked about.
It was surprising as this is just a bi-weekly train and currently not under any Rake sharing arrangement.
On its return journey train again halted just outside Secunderabad station for more than 20 minutes
as a result finally the train was 10 minutes late on arrival.
This is a common phenomenon as trains crawl at 10 kms/hr outside station on both directions for technical reasons (sharp turns, Scissors crossing etc). But these can be sorted out like they did
at Mumbai CST station a decade back by remodeling the tracks
On it's return journey in sharp contrast at LTT station the empty rake arrived at the platform 45 minutes before the scheduled departure.
LTT station though dirty ,shabby and resembling a goods shed has better train management system
Speed
-----
I Was a bit disappointed with the train speed as it hardly averages 64 kms/hr.
This Would definitely qualify as one of the slowest Durontos
There is scope for further improvement as on date more than 250 kms are still on single track
on Daund-Gulbarga section on CR. The doubling work is still on for the last 30 years or so.
The average rate of doubling is just 10 kms a year.
Mumbai-Pune is fully electrified and doubled since long.
The track is doubled upto Bhigwan and again from Mohol to Hotgi.
In contrast The entire SCR section on this route is doubled and Electrification work
is in progress between Lingampally-Wadi.
Catering
--------
As the train departs late in the night no Dinner is served but they
provide a bottle of drinking water in the night itself
Tea is served at 7 am in the morning followed by breakfast at 9 am consisting of a couple
of slices of bread with a small packet of butter, jam, ketchup and a couple of veg cutlets.
Newspapers are given subject to availability.
Seat availability
-----------------
More than 250 berths are avaiable for 3AC and atleast 10 berths on 2AC and 6 berths
for 1AC on any given day on an average. This train has not picked up on popularity
as it is only 1 month ago that this train was introduced.
If they convert this into a non-AC duronto with 6-7 SL coaches and only 4 AC3T, 2 AC2T
and 1 composite first AC-CUM-Second AC coach
then this train will have 100% occupancy.
Technical halts and coach composition is just as described in Admin notes section

Again I'd insist that they are not terminus , or terminating stations for trains of any kind . Alam Nagar and Badshahnagar are simply stations on NR and NER lines of Lucknow.

My friend, Prashant has already pointed out that this is due to the logistic constraint.
Trains like Karnataka Express which need not go to Pune, don't make a reversal here.

A "terminal" or "terminus" is a station at the end of a railway line. Trains arriving there have to end their journeys (terminate) or reverse out of the station. Depending on the layout of the station, this usually permits travellers to reach all the platforms without the need to cross any tracks – the public entrance to the station and the main reception facilities being at the far end of the platforms.
Sometimes, however, the railway line continues for a short distance beyond the station, and terminating trains continue forwards after depositing their passengers, before either proceeding to sidings or reversing back to the station to pick up departing passengers.

terminus is frequently, but not always, the final destination of trains arriving at the station. However a number of cities, especially in continental Europe, have a terminus as their main railway stations, and all main lines converge on this station. There may also be a bypass line, used by freight trains that do not need to stop at the main station. In such cases all trains passing through that main station must leave in the reverse direction from that of their arrival. There are several ways in which this can be accomplished:
