I am writing this post just to share my views from past few experiences as to how casual and careless humans can be, to promote unhygienic environment in railways.

Washroom/Wash basin:
Washroom and Washbasin usages are so frequent and this is something one cannot challenge or question. However, when one uses it for his/her own turn, it must also be kept in mind that many more dozens of people are also in turn to use the same. And no one definitely has a right to use railway resources as use and throw resources.

Dumping Food Wrappers or foils under the berths:
This is just not acceptable. Enjoy your food and let others "enjoy the trash". People must be sensible enough to these issues at least.

Bed Linens : Used as a wiping cloth towards end of the journey. Really shameful.

Cigarette/Bidi butts: thrown into commodes/pans or washbasins, leave alone the fact SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN RAILWAYS

I would also add that if passengers continue to do this, railway housekeeping/ cleaning staff would also be discouraged to discharge their duties with devotion. Already at times they do not feel like doing their work properly, and such behavioural patterns of passengers adds to the problems.

That is why, I wrote that CLEANLINESS IS A JOINT RESPONSIBILITY and STAKE OF PASSENGERS IN THIS IS MORE THAN railways.

Hello Friends,
I recently traveled by this train twice within a span of 3.5 months. The experience of even 2A coach was horrible. The rake with reversed CC is in a pathetic condition and to add to this, the maintenance is way too inadequate.
This is a SO called PT. I think this needs to be taken seriously by the railways as a basic requirement. The toilets are pathetic with no working flush system, taps of ancient pull up type and no proper mirrors (half of them seems permanently blurred). This is just

same. In fact they are aware of many, besides the fact of turning blind eyes to majority of them. But everything has got a LIMIT.
Sleeper coaches are in nightmarish situation. I cannot say with utmost surety about inside conditions of AC coaches, but nonetheless the exterior is at par with Sleeper coaches.
I know I may seem to be demanding something out of constraints of IR but the general conditions of these trains, in fact premier trains, can easily be improved if RSA factor is eliminated between them.

I may not mind that. But I will definitely mind it if key factors like cleanliness and general conditions of coaches are affected. They need to think about ensuring due care even in limited time constraint. Then the issue will stand resolved. They are not supposed to be there just for the sake of running trains.

I am precisely talking about that "Seriously" issue. If they cannot be Serious enough, do away with RSA, else justify the RSA.
P.S. It is clearly intended that what primarily concerns me is not logistics but general basics. RSA should not be continued at the cost of denial of basic comfort to commoners.

▪Punctuality at Stations: 4.5

▪Cleanliness: 4 (Washrooms may be improved
further)

▪Occupancy : As far my DOJ is concerned,
train was fully occupied. Majority of
alightment took place till BBS. Thereafter
around 35-40% of total passengers
deboarded at Puri.)

▪Food: (5 )Quantity- Subjective (Some found it
sufficient, some desired a bit more)
Quality- Good (Almost all in my nearest
surroundings agreed)

▪Speed: Good as per allotted MPS. In some
stretches, the train was made to crawl
though (May be PSR or maintenance
or occasional affair(??))

Overall Rating: 9/10 (Good Experience after a long time in this Shatabdi. Wish it raises more patronage)
