In GMO-MGS section even HWH mail dooes in same time as JSK with umpteen number of stops.
Many times it so happens that JSK arrives at GMO and HWH mail is late; then JSK is made to wait and HWH mail is given clearance first.
JSK crawls behind Imperial mail. Once I was in late running Nandan Kanan. All three arrived at GMO. MAil left first, then Nandan Kanan, and finally JSK. The only consollation was that MGS controllers allowed OT of Nandan Kanan in triple section DOS-MGS bcz Nandan Kanan has stop

at Sasaram. Hence, JSK is good train in GMO-MGS but not THE BEST OF ALL.

See, the thing is pax cares only for OT run, It doesn't care which train left first or last. That only we railfans see.
I didn't say JSK is best but it can be made. You see from RNC towards Ndls all trains except JSK depart before 1800 hrs which is actually official closing time of offices in ranchi. Now you can't leave the office without biometric attendance before 6 pm. So the pax has to wait another day. So one day is wasted. Now all trains from ranchi arrive ndls almost at noon or atleast after 1000hrs which means no one can catch their office/college ( please note that I am not asking arrival of rajdhani/GR before 7am or 8

am), so another day wasted. But with JSK you board at 2340 hrs which is good for all ( but not for pax of bksc) and next u reach ndls at 2100 hrs. So only 1 day wasted.
I was saying only if can be made to depart at around 2100 hrs then it will be good for pax of RNC as well as for BKSC and will reach delhi at around 1900 hrs next day then it will the best train from rnc to ndls.
Now also it is good but for BKSC people it is proboematic as it reaches there at 0200 hrs - 030 hrs.

ECOR TAKES THE CREDIT FOR THE PRESENT CYCLONE ACROSS AP AND TN.

After travelling across the various zones of IR, our Rail Fan journalist bumped into an EcoR Official who just released a press note that ECoR had predicted
the cyclone much before in July and hence have reduced the speeds of the all trains to VSKP.
Our

bread, butter , Dal and Sabji making div is VSKP and we cant afford to lose any morsel

After recovering from the shock,RFJ requested to explain and the official explained. " We have contacted the meterological dept to forecast the climate for the complete.
usually farmers, fishermen and other sections of society look for this forecast. But being forerunner in "development", we have contacted them
in july to give us the complete list of cyclones. Based on the data, we have changed all the timetables for the trains.
Since VSKP and southern part of AP are prone to cyclones, we have slowed down all their trains.
For Odisha, it has been predicted as horrid summer, we have increased the speed of all possible trains.
For the same reason too, we have slowed down the AC AP express.

Also, to increase the connectivity between VSKP and new capital, we are planning to route the trains via NGNT for capital purpose.
We are expecting power shortage in AP(VSKP) and hence, we are deploying more diesel engines to replace electric."

Query on CHANGE OF BOARDING Rule:
I'm planning to book ticket on Golden temple 12904 train - booking from Amritsar till Borivali & set the boarding as Ambala which is almost 4 hrs after Amritsar.
I'm booking from Amritsar instead of Ambala because my travel at Ambala is quite tentative & might at last moment change board to Amritsar itself.
Thus pls advise,

from current boarding rule, I understand I can change the boarding from Ambala to any station in-between Ambala-Borivali but in my case can I also change it from Ambala to Amritsar ?
I really doubt Railway might have took someone reservation from Amritsar till Ambala for my allotted seat. Please suggest.
