1) Special/on Demand Trains are run on SPECIAL DEMAND only, but the Staff required for it needs to be kept on permanent payroll plus the Rolling stock has to exist always but will only run in Festive seasons. So, utilization of these resources would be less & hence it is justified to charge more for TOD Trains.
2) The Special Fare Trains help recover the costs of Normal Trains too as Normal Fare cannot be increased Several times due to political pressure.

In Ashwini Vaishnaw rule since 2022 only Vande Bharat is prioritised. 3E coach came out in 2021 , everyone thought it's new version of Garib Rath coaches but who knew that every train has to donate 2 sleeper/general for 2 3E coaches in every train. Overcrowding has really became a concerning issue even some top People like IAS,IPS , Social media influencers who travel by Trains are also posting on Social media. 50-60 year old legendary trains are extended instead of new trains. In my opinion Railway should focus on crowd management first in regular trains then only Vande Bharat can come . All premium trains are with red LHB coach even GR also , no uniqueness among Rajdhani,Duronto, Garib Rath etc . Railway should bring new livery for premium trains, manage crowd

fanof12801~ 89 blog postsThis pooled quota is a big headache. Talking about 18103 Earlier before Covid- this train didn't had any PQ. But now from tata to jalandhar it is PQ, and tata to asr it is GN quota. This train gets 30% or more empty at varanasi then 30% at Lucknow.
Railway understand this very clearly that tata has a big demand for varanasi. Today this PQ quota (Till jalandhar) is showing regret status. Why they are not starting any extra train for BSB. I can understand this train is for Punjab but...

12801 is ok, but once you check 12875, it has so many charting station and seats are in very less number, even 12875 is in heavy demand should have been increased the frequency.
due to RSA, difficult to increase frequency . 12875 demand is more till BSB/LKO only but seem extremely heavy rush. There was news about Puri-Ayodhya Express via Keonjhar-Gaya-Varanasi due to elections, it is on hold
It ran as special train but the problem is that it didn't cover the CTC-BLS-TATA route. I believe 12815 and 12875 RSA should be modified in some ways or new train should train between LKO-PURI.
I think that route doubling or something is going on, once done, might be possible to run as superfast train.
