Pophlaj crossing station is temporarily closed on 4th nov'20. Now the block section Washimbe - Pophlaj and Pophlaj - Jeur is merged and made one single section from Washimbe to Jeur. This will facilitate construction of Up Main line and Up Loop line in PPJ yard. Snaps of work.
New Pophlaj railway station will be constructed at new location.

Passengers demanding to reduce loose margins of down trains between Kurduwadi and Solapur as doubling is completed. Distance between KWV and Solapur is 80 Kms which covers in 50-60 mins where as down trains has given 60-90 mins of extra margin.
In the news it is also mentioned that Indian Railways prestigious train 12628 Karnataka Express has loose margin of 60 mins due to this trains are forcefully waiting either at Solapur outer or at Bale station.

Now CR Solapur Division has declared to close Kurduwadi Railway Gate permanently from 2nd August 2019, as the interlocking work going to start soon.
It is expected to commission 35 Km stretch from Wadshinge to Bhalawani by 31st August.

there is major yard remodeling work expected at Kurduwadi Junction.
So finally good news came after 6 months.

While traveling in 16352 Nagarcoil - Tirupati - Mumbai Express, I have observed following progress of doubling.
Wadshinge - Interlocking work for UP main line is already completed new signals are ready for functioning.
Kurduwadi - Wadshinge to Kurduwadi outer track laid long back. Now the progress is KWV outer to KWV Junction new tracks are laid.

interlocking work is yet to be done, but all necessary tracks are laid.
So after doubling, line passing from PF 2 of KWV will be treated as UP Main line.
At present this line goes towards PVR/MRJ, therefore new track laid from KWV LC to KWV Pune end outer at extreme left side.
So this new line will goes towards PVR/MRJ after interlocking and existing PVR/MRJ line will be connected to new line towards Dhavlas from KWV outer. Here also new signaling system is installed and ready for testing.
(At present, construction of new platform beside PF 1 for 24 coaches trains will not be happening, so they will use PF 3 & 4 as usual).
Dhavlas - Construction of new platform is 80% completed. Tracks already laid in entire stretch.
Only interlocking work is remaining.
Kem - Bridge work at Kem outer is completed and PF 1 is closed for constructing new up main line adjucent to it.
Bhalawani - Here also platform work is 80% completed. Entire stretch from Wadshinge is ready for CRS after interlocking work.
After Bhalawani I haven't seen much progress, only leveling work is going on.
