Very sad incident it was.
One of biggest accident in the history of IR.
What happened to the 24 nos of coaches? Only 1 GS coach of 12864 is there in KGP Workshop.

I discussed the derailment issue with few persons with Railway working ( SM,Signal engineers and ALPs)
They also could not arrive at conclusion .How Coro LP got thru signal when Goods train was parked in main line . At the time of accident ,Coro was running at 128 kmh As soon as Signal was changed , green to red , LP applied brake and 2 ...

A small correction.
As soon as the loco pilot pressed the emergency brake suddenly, due to high velocity of the train at 128kmph and suddenly emergency brake, the loco due to inertia of motion flied up and climbed over the freight train. As soon as the coupling with loco detached, there as a sudden jerk on LVPH Coach next to loco, it derailed and all subsequent coaches got derailed.
Train no 12864 was crossing at that point towards HWH, one of the derailed coaches of Coromondel hit the 2nd and...

DanielSebastian~ 4291 blog postsI've noticed that the composition for 12704 and 12703 don't seem to fit the norm. Ideally 12704 runs with CC -( ENG - EOG -GEN -H1- A1- A2- B1 - B2 -B3 - B4 -B5 -B6 - B7 - B8 - PC - S1 - S2 - S3 - S4 - S5 - S6 GEN - SLR - HCPV), undergoes Reversal at VSKP and continues to HWH. But 12703 runs with reverse composition as mentioned above, starting from HWH i.e S6 is at the start, when it should be the reverse .I've checked official sites and it seems like this is infact the case. Can anyone explain what is going on here? So does SRC CDO rearrange these coaches to be in this order? I've seen similar patterns happen to Chennai Mail and Coromandel, but not for SMVB HWH SF. me53_2125 2 blog postsNot even 1 WL gets confirmed in 12842 Coromandel Express from VSKP. Any special reasons? Doesn't Remote Location have some of the seats reserved to clear waitlist? I had a ticket today which was WL/15 and remained the same after the chart preparation in 3AC. Its quite surprising to see that despite having eight 3AC coaches not even one waitlist is getting cleared.
