What are the meanings of Home Signal and Starter Signal? 6 Answers What are the meanings of Home Signal and Starter Signal? Home signal & Starter signal both are controlled by SM and gives permission for a train to enter or exit out of station premise. This term has really been very tough to understand....also i think that only very advanced stations like ndls , hwh , bct , mas have starter signals, Every station except HALT stations have a starter & advanced starter signal. They have different names since they serve different purpose. Whenever a train approaches a station it encounters a HOME signal & whenever it leaves that station it obeys the STARTER signal. the Home signal is the first Stop signal of a station at which an Outer signal is not provided and the second Stop signal of a station at which an Outer signal is provided. HOME & OUTER has same meaning & is normally referred as HOME only be it in single or double line. HOME & STARTER are compulsory/permanent signal required without which railways can't operate. |
