The MAIN LINE (106 kms) is from Howrah to Barddhaman via Bandel and the CHORD LINE (95 kms) is from Howrah to Barddhaman via Dankuni. OK. The two lines separate at BALLY, 10 kms away from Howrah and reunite at Shaktigarh, which is 12 kms before Barddhaman. Now the lines from Sealdah/Kolkata connect to the MAIN LINE at Bandel via NAIHATI and the lines from Sealdah/Kolkata connect to the CHORD LINE at Dankuni via DAKSHINESWAR.
