It means the same thing: Remote Quota Waitlist and Remote Station Waitlist. Both are really the same. Don't worry about it.
If it is showing simply WL now, it means you are being processed. Check now or after half hour or post your PNR for an analysis. Upto you. But you have good chances for RAC at least being WL1, if not confirmed berth ! Good wishes.

RS = Road Side quota = quota defined from starting station of the train to an intermediate station.
RL = Remote Location quota = quota defined from intermediate station of the train to ending station.
RSWL = WL maintained for RS quota
RLWL = WL maintained for RL quota

Its not about the station size, its about the name of the quota. The quota is called like that, thats not my fault. May be IR didnt find a good name for it.
Assume when a quota is defined from Mumbai to Solapur, its NOT "Mumbai RS quota", it is "SOLAPUR RS quota".
.
Note :
RS
...
quotas are identified as to where they end
RL quotas are identified as to from where they start
.
Again, I have not named these quotas. Its a system nomenclature applicable to all trains and all stations over Indian Railways. Had I designed this system, I would have defined something better.

To answer this question : "And what is the real difference from Roadside and Remote Location".
Assume in Coimbatore Kurla Exp, some berths can be reserved only between Coimbatore and Bangalore. This is called Road side quota (RS quota : start to intermediate).
Some berths (infact the same berths) can be reserved only between Bangalore and Kurla. This is called Remote Location
...
quota (RL quota : intermediate to end).
.
The berths on charts pasted on trains are denoted as "SBC/" and "/SBC" respectively. One cannot book a single berth in these quotas from anywhere in CBE-SBC section to SBC-LTT section. The system does not allow this, neither at booking time, nor at charting time. If some one has to overcome this issue, he needs to book 2 tickets, one upto SBC and other from SBC, to be eligible for these quotas.
.
And Sir, I am not angry, I can explain you on phone also.

If it is RSWL, even if the blogger has not specified, it can be only 1 of the 2 trains:
- Coimbatore LTT Exp
- Kongu Exp
Cannot be any other train. Will have to wait for the original blogger to verify by providing his PNR number.

Hi,
I was not sure if giving PNR number online is safe as it might get misused. Its Kurla Express starting from Coimbatore. Status still shows as WL/1.
Any update would be appreciated.
Thank you

Try at 2130 (9.30 p.m.). Chart would have been prepared. It should get confirmed.

My first guess about the train was correct, and I guess the ticket should also be confirmed. Should not be a problem at all.
