Train No 22120 Superfast Tejas Express will leave Karmali at 2:30 PM on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting from May 23 and arrive at the CST at 9 PM,” DK Sharma, general manager of the Central Railway, said. Tejas will have two executive AC chair car with 56 seating capacity and 12 AC chair cars with 78 seat capacity of each coach. Yes agree.. This is an excellent gift for Mumbai-Goa-Konkan region. A sector where normally a volvo bus chrges somewhere between 1200-2500 for a seat. These fares and services being provided is just awesome..
Lets hope that passengers also behave responsibly and not tamper with the LED tv's etc. Also CCTV and other equipment is properly maintained. Maybe after few months of running it would be good to see how may of these facilities are in working condition

Obtaining an average speed of 65Kmph in itself is a huge achievement on a single line saturated route like KR. Very few trains on this route eg.:DR-MAO JS, TVC/MAORajdhani and CSTM-MAJN SF are the only ones getting very high priority on this route. Some of the things you mentioned in deficiencies. 1. 65kmph avg is not low. It is KR and single line. There will be crossing. 2. CC is not normal CC which you see in shatabdi, it has foldable legrest, which means you can relax very well 3. For people going to Goa, Karmali is closer than MAO. It is just early departure, and this train is mainly for tourist, and they wont mind going early 5. Fare is not at all high, just do a reality check about food price. 6. Flight prices are dynamic and will increase rapidly, and the view KR provides can never be given by a flight.
160kmph trial is thing of past (about 13 years back). After that trial there were a few major accidents on KR which forces rlys to restrict speed of trains. During monsoon months, Konkan Route in not considered safe at normal speed. Hence, max speed is kept 90/100kmph during these months.

Catering Services- In case the passenger wishes to opt for onboard catering services, service – wise catering charges i.e. Executive class and Chair car on Tejas Trains shall be inbuilt in the ticket fare. If passenger do not opt for catering services at the time of booking the ticket and decides to purchase meals onboard, an extra amount of Rs 50/- per service, in addition to the prescribed catering charges shall be charged subject to availability. However a charge of Rs 20/- will be included in the fare for all passengers of all classes, since packaged drinking water and newspapers will be provided on board to every passenger irrespective of their option for onboard meals.

In each coach, a volunteer was seen explaining climate changes, green house effect, stem cells, urban water management, how and why dinosaurs perished, among other issues. “Finally, adaptation to climate change is the key to survival,” they told students from various schools. M. Bhagya Lakshmi, a student of class 10 in A.P. Model School at Addannapalem, Kothavalasa mandal, told The Hindu that the exhibits on display in the train were educative and nice to learn the impact of climate change. एनबीटी ब्यूरो, लखनऊ : कई दिनों से लखनऊ से कानपुर के बीच रद चल रही वरुणा एक्सप्रेस रविवार से कानपुर तक चलने लगेगी। इससे वाराणसी से कानपुर व कानपुर से वाराणसी जाने वाले यात्रियों को खासी राहत मिलेगी। दूसरी ओर शनिवार को बाराबंकी से लखनऊ व लखनऊ से बाराबंकी जाने वाली मेमू कैंसल कर दिए जाने से सैकड़ों दैनिक यात्री खासे परेशान हुए। अमौसी स्टेशन पर नॉन इंटरलॉकिंग काम के दौरान रेलवे ने वाराणसी से कानपुर के बीच चलने वाली वरुणा एक्सप्रेस (24227/24228) लखनऊ से कानपुर के बीच कैंसल कर दी थी। अब रविवार से यह ट्रेन कानपुर तक चलने लगेगी। वहीं इलाहाबाद से कानपुर रेलखंड के बीच राजा का तालाब स्टेशन पर चल रहे इंटरलॉकिंग के चलते लिच्छवी एक्सप्रेस वाया लखनऊ... more...
होकर चलेगी। अप लिच्छवी एक्सप्रेस (14005) 22 से 25 मई तक और डाउन लिच्छवी एक्सप्रेस (14006) 21 से 24 मई तक डायवर्ट रहेगी। वहीं लखनऊ से बाराबंकी के बीच चलने वाली 64232 मेमू व बाराबंकी से लखनऊ के बीच चलने वाली 64271 मेमू कैंसल होने से सैकड़ों दैनिक यात्रियों को दिक्कतें उठानी पड़ी। इसके अलावा 64206 मेमू शनिवार को चारबाग स्टेशन के बजाए लखनऊ जंक्शन पर आई, जबकि डुप्लीकेट पंजाब मेल (13050) का रेक उपलब्ध न होने से यह ट्रेन भी अचानक रद कर दी गई। इससे इस गाड़ी में रिजर्वेशन कराने वाले यात्रियों को अपनी यात्रा रद करनी पड़ी। आज से कानपुर तक जाएगी वरुणा एक्सप्रेस दो मेमू व डुप्लीकेट पंजाब मेल कैंसल होने से परेशान हुए यात्री
