Inspite of announcing the doubling project between MDU - CAPE in the budget it has not been started . The route which runs via Villupuram , Trichy , Madurai is 717 Km long . Uptill now only MS - CGL and DG - MDU has been doubled . CGL - VM is ready for inspection and VM - DG is on the way . The routes selected for doubling was MEJ - NCJ , CAPE - TVC and MEJ - TN and 77.64 crores were alloted for this project .
