speeding up of locals is a big joke.
all the locals during peak hours are late by at least 10-15 minutes.
would be great if the stress is on making the existing trains run on time.
however efforts to reduce the cross overs at andheri is a good initiative that will give the desired results.

in the delays of other services during cross overs can be easily achieved if elevated tracks are constructed for corss over at andheri/borivali.
The timings of mail/express trains should be such that they do not enter the suburban section during peak hours.
The extension of services is also good step and will lead to reduction in congestion on the most crowded borivali-virar section.
However, I am not sure if any of the extension has been done during morning peak hours.
