Where are the railway tracks for 200kmph operation??
LHB coaches were acquired 2 decades ago, and it was touted that they are capable of 200kmph where as Faster trains were operating at 130kmph(Exc. BPL Shatabdi doing 140kmph in NDL-AGC section).
Today also the situation is same 130kmph (Exc. Gatiman/BPL Shatabdi doing 160/150kmph in NDL-AGC section)
All the huge expenditure due to LHB coaches (
...

(1) Import of coaches in foreign exchange
(2) technology transfer in foreign exchange
(3) Modification of coach factories/workshops/
(4) Higher cost of the LHB coach
(5) Cost of generator cars and its operation, maintenance, fuelling, manning costs, and air/noisepollution.
(6) Revenue loss due to reduced paxs which in turn is due to compulsion of having generator cars
(7) Lesser indigenisation in LHB as compared to ICF coach
At the time of purchase of LHB coach/technology, IR/RDSO has already developed, tested and produced a 160kmph rake which was deployed in NDLS-ASR swarna shatabdi.
Today, again IR mulling to buy 250kmph Talgo coaches at heavy costs with the LHB technology coaches (200kmph) getting badly insulted by operating them at 100/130kmph!
Is History in process of repeating itself, just because humans refuse to learn lessons from the past?!!

very nicely put up the points. Many LHB trains given slow TT and running vacant. Today i have seen SC-SHM AC express at VSKP current availability in 3A 451 seats...Over all around 600 seats empty.
Its given VSKP-SHM 15 hrs 15 min where as ICF coaches non AC exp Tpty-src given 13 hr 30 min between vskp-src.
Here this SC-SHM is all AC train with LHB coaches going at 57 kmph avg speed where non AC ICF train going at 64 kmph. So whats the use of more speed trains when

the present trains it self not getting used to 160 kmph.
Railways just wasting common man tax money and finally crying for fare hike saying loses.

Do we have tracks that can withstand 200km/hr running LHB coaches? If not then what's the benefit of developing 200 km/he LHB coaches. Current 180 capable coaches can't even run at their potential speed bcoz of fragile P-way and here Railways is working on 200 capable coaches!! This what we call uttered nonsense.
