MUMBAI: A major disaster was averted on Monday night when a piece of track was found placed over tracks near Kalamboli Railway Station on the Panvel-Diva...
Leaving the scrap rails and other track material along the railway tracks is turning out to be very dangerous. There is high probability of theft (loss of revenue) and the second is extremely dangerous too, possibility of using the scrap rails etc to sabotage the trains. Two attempts within a span of a few days must be a alarm bell for IR.

A proper planning and execution of storage and selling of railway scrap as soon as it is released is very much required to ensure more revenue as well...
