* Kashmir project has earlier moved at snail’s pace, with deadlines extended multiple times.
* But the unprecedented at which IR projects are moving under leadership of Mr. Prabhu, we have reason to believe this claim of IR.

of 338km long Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Project, popularly known as Kashmir Valley Rail project:
1983-Construction started in Jammu-Udhumpur section-53kms
2002-This project was declared a national project with direct funding from Central Govt.
2005-Jammu-Udhumpur-53kms-Line commissioned (53kms commissioned)
2009-Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal-112kms-Line commissioned (Total 165 kms commissioned)
2013-Qazigund-Banihal -18kms-Line commissioned (including 11.2 km Pir Panjal tunnel) (Total 183 kms commissioned)
2014-Udhumpur-Katra-25kms Line commissioned (Total 208 kms commissioned)
2018-Katra-Salaal-50kms -130km section is likely to be commissioned.(i.e. commissioned of 258 KMs)
2020- Salaal- Qazigund-80kms planned for commissioning including Chenab Bridge, shall mark the completion of full 338 RKMs of the project.
