more... Kolkata Metro’s Line-2. It was refurbished and passed factory acceptance tests (FAT) in June 2023 before being deployed in Kanpur in September 2023. Vidyarthi's initial focus is on building a 1250m long underground tunnel for the down-line, extending from Kanpur Central Station towards Nayaganj Station. The TBM has already completed eight temporary and twelve permanent rings for its initial drive. Afcons was awarded the contract for the 4.65 km KNPCC-06 section in March 2022 by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC). This section connects Nayaganj Station and Transport Nagar Ramp, traversing through three underground stations at Kanpur Central, Jhakarkatti, and Transport Nagar. Afcons' first TBM, Azad (S-640B), is concurrently working on the parallel up-line tunnel and has constructed 190 rings. The launch of TBM Vidyarthi marks a significant step towards the completion of the Kanpur Metro Phase 1 project.

March 2022 mein Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) ne Afcons ko 4.65 km KNPCC-06 section ka contract diya tha.
