Fully unreserved trains on very long routes (about 2000 kms/ about 2 days) is not a logical move. IR should promote non ac SL travel for very long journeys. Better option is to have more general coaches in Express/SF trains to cater to short distance/ non reserved paxs. IR. This must be done in the premium trains like Shatabdi/Raj which compete with airlines and where reduction of journey time shall result in higher occupancy and hence more profits to IR. For Antyodaya trains there is no financial return of expenditure incurred in double loco operation.
