why cant they double such a good track and what is the history of that route
I think Survey has completed for doubling of this route but doubling not sanctioned yet.
This route partially passes through hilly area & has tunnels. As railway was feeling this route risky; initially, for many years, it was open to goods train only. Later on permitted for passenger's trains.
Demand of local people is correct.

चौक जवळील बोगद्याची रुंदी कमी असल्याने EMU जाऊ शकत नसल्याचे बोलले जाते.
local people in KJT want KJT-PNVL shuttle service, however IR says that the line is unfit of passenger service by EMU (owing to narrow width of tunnel, reason is given by other poster). the officials however say that DMU can be run, so the rest of the article is a rant by author about how IR has loads of DMU rake but is doing injustice to people by not providing them here.
