More than Goa this is for Konkan and Konkan Railways. Looks like RM is completely working for above two.
Mumbai to Madgaon there are more than 10 trains on the route more than 5 are daily ones.
But not even anyone associated with Railways feels that atleast one train should start from Vasco Da Gama.
Not even one RM thinks of connecting
...
Goa Bangalore daily train, not even one RM wants to introduce passenger or ICE type trains to Goa from Belgaum and Hubli.
It's a total loss to people and win win for KTC and KSRTC.

* non ac paxs is very cost sensitive segment, and is habitual in travelling on subsidised fare. so a profitable premium service is not easily marketable.
* Air conditioning is more essential to paxs than the other frills provided in Tejas,
* Practically cost of air conditioning is only around one third of total costing of air conditioned service, so even if ac is removed from tejas while keeping other extra facilities & frills, the the cost of non ac Tejas shall be slightly lower than ac chair car of ME.
*
...
For approximately 500km journey, rough fares of various chaircar options are
ACC SF-650/- Rs (w/o catering)
ACC Shatabdi-1000/- Rs (incl. of catering charges)- 750 (W/o catering)
ACC Tejas-1100 Rs. (incl. of catering charges)-750-850 (W/o catering)
IIS- Tejas- 500 Rs.(w/o catering & with same profitability over the cost price as ACC of Tejas)
IIS- Tejas- 750 Rs.(incl. catering & with same profitability over the cost price as ACC of Tejas)
IIS SF-180/- Rs
180Rs paying subsidy availing paxs would not like to avail non ac tejas w/o subsidy fare of about Rs. 500.
* So a pax would prefer to travel comfortable ac chaircar in normal express trains to travel in non ac Tejas by paying a little extra.
* Since Tejas trains are 110/130kmph speed only, non ac chair car coaches can be attached to improve their popularity and revenues, but its non ac chaircars have to be priced with no profit no loss or with a little loss (lesser than non-ac chair car of normal SF trains).
* In that case the option of non ac Tejas seats (with its extra features and W/o catering charges), which will cost about 300-400 (for about 500km journey) shall have to be provided by IR.

Mumbai to Goa is the no.1 short distance air traffic route in India, with 12 lac pax per annum or about 3500 paxs per day.
In fact Mum-Goa along with Mumbai-Ahmedabad (5th rank) with 11-lac paxs per annum (3200 pax per day) are the only 2 short routes (500km) in the top 10 air routes of India.
The only 3 air routes with higher number of paxs is
(1)
...
32 lacs-Delhi-Mumbai (1400km)
(2) 18 lacs-Delhi-Bengaluru (2400km)
(3) 17 lacs-Mumbai-Bengaluru (1200km)
-
So Mumbai Goa is one of the top routes for Tejas, but to achieve success, the Tejas have to operate at 160kmph and cover the distance in about 4 hrs to wean away the existing traffic from airlines as well as from road-(luxury buses & private cars). 2 full length Mum-Goa Tejas shall be required even if the Tejas could attract 40-50 % of air traffic.
-
French TGV trains after introduction have eaten up a majority of traffic of airlines in France so that the no. of flights between TGV connected cities have been drastically reduced. Speed of Rail is the most important factor in this competition. A HST can cover Mumbai-Goa in just 2 hrs and can open up a large number of possibilities.
(1) 80% of existing air traffic 2800 pax per day. More over The air traffic is currently increasing @ 20% per annum.
and a big chunk of luxury bus/taxi/ private car traffic can be expected to switch over to such a HST.
(2) Few thousands of paxs from road are target for the HSTs which can be attracted by introducing economical ACDD HST services (As are being operated in TGV network)
(3) Some HSTs stop at intermediate stations and get additional paxs in addition to Mum-Goa non-stop HST.
(4) With successful marketing strategy, HST could attract traffic enough to operate about 3-5 daily HS trains between Mumbai-Goa.
-
But with current timetable and hopelessly low speed (50kmph) leading to a highly-inconvenient very-long ac chair car journey (10:30 hrs), MUM-Karmali (overnight) Tejas, as well as Karmal-Mumbai (day journey) Tejas, are likely to have poor passenger patronage. Only name "Tejas" is not enough to attract paxs. It has to be really "Tej "with 100kmph+ avg speed (5-6hr journey) to taste success.

Do all Mumbai Goa passengers travel to only Mumbai or Karmali and none to Vasco ?
My question is simple why not a single daily train dedicated from Bangalore to Goa ?
Why entire focus is on the rich tourists why dont they run a single daily passenger from Hubli or Belgaum ?
KSRTC or KTC influences ?
More

than 5 daily trains from Mumbai to Madgaon and just not even one to Bangalore ?
I have also not mentioned other places in Karnataka like Gulbarga, Bagalkot, Vijaypura, etc where Railways can earn decent income if proper train with proper timings and schedule is introduced. Buses already ply there and are earning good.
