BPL has plethora of trains to every nook and corner of country barring North East and parts of Eastern India. It lies on very imp NDLS-MAS stretch so no question of less no. of trains. Yes I agree that a few trains are required from Bhopal. Stating JBP bound trains as useless is not a decent call. Jabalpur gets trains which come all the way from Bihar/UP bound for Mumbai or South India. Thus it was important to provide connectivity to Jabalpur from various parts of India being the HQ of WCR. Ergo making JBP the biggest terminal of WCR , 25 odd trains were provided and they have bode pretty well and have got decent patronage barring one or two of them. JBP has been the biggest exporter for Indian Army as far as Vehical and Guns are concerned for which frieghts were used. The situation at which JBP is...

right now is pretty comfortable and future projects like itarsi Jabalpur Electrification and Gondia gauge conversion will improve the situation even more.

BPL has a very strong reason for better connectivity, as it is capital of a large state, many people from far off regions need a atleast daily overnight or day time intercity connection depending upon the distance and traffic, so that they can conveniently travel to state capital for various business/ govt related work.
-
IND too should get high priority for direct connections to various parts of MP as well as major regions/ cities of India outside MP. Actually very poor connectivity (trains) actually exists. Since there are no passing trains through
...

IND (unlike JBP) a large number of originating trains are required. On the other hand more and more originating trains of MP had been introduced from JBP (being WCR-HQ) rather than from IND in spite of the fact that its revenue(JBP's) is very low as compared to the number of trains that originate from here. Once more trains are introduced from BPL/IND its revenue shall see a quantum jump as BPL/IND is growing at much higher rate than JBP.
-
JBP used to be capital of huge Central province which included Vidarbha region and was one of the most prominent cities of Central India. But after formation of MP state with BPL as capital during reorganisation of states, BPL a relatively smaller city grew leap and bounds overtaking JBP by wide margin. On the other hand the previously pampered JBP was left high & dry and left with high court. That too wad diluted after benches were opened at IND & Gwalior.
-
But in Railway matters JBP undoubtedly is the most pampered city of MP.
Population of- IND/ BPL/ JBP/ GWL urban agglomerations in lacs
2011 census - 21.7/ 18.9/ 12.7/ 11.2 Population in lacs 2011
2001 census-15.1/ 14.6/ 11/ 8.7 Population in lacs 2001
Growth (lacs)-6.6/4.3/1.7/2.5 Population added in 10 years 2001-11
Growth (in%) -44%/29%/15%/29% decadal population 2001-11
Above data shows population Indore had grown at the rate of 44%, BPL-29%, & JBP only 15% in a10 yrs. So IND is getting maximum migrant population and deserves more new trains to take care of the travelling requirements of migrants/ burgeoning population.

Actually NCR portion of MP is relatively backward and does not have any big/ medium city. This year NCR itself has got not much funds as compared to other zones.
MP is a huge state and it would need a lot of new rail lines if all the district HQs are to be connected by rail. However, Lalitpur-Tikamgarh(distt HQ)-Chhatarpur(distt HQ)-Khajuraho-Satna, (+Khajuraho-Mahoba ) is a mega new line project which is moving at very good pace (as per IR standards) and improve rail connectivity of the region in a big way.
