this is a much required project for Pilgrims and also to environment. But needs proper planning to hit MPS
A slew of reasons
First and most importantly it will harm the untouched beauty of idukki and Pathanamthitta districts of Kerala. Don't even think those places are under developed. Idukki is the first E district and cyber district in India.. I want true development not concrete structures. It will affect wild life.
Secondly I don't think it's profitable, the exchequer will never be gained. The route will be useful only in pilgrim season.

Yes, I agree with the first 3 points. 4th is the subject of religion and one's own personal view point of religion. 5th, all revenue is for TVC.

Politicians want to showcase some development in terms of new line so pushing for this. Also the Nilambur-Mysuru line which again won't happen as it passes through tiger corridor. The realistic new line one can think for the next decade is Mysuru - Kushalanagara/Virajapete - Thalassery.
