Commercial Manager, Smt Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, Shri V. Satyanarayana Murthy, Chief General Manager, Hyderabad Circle, Andhra Bank.
Kacheguda will be the first Station on Indian Railways to become 100% fully Digital Payment enabled station. All transactions can be done Cashless by means of accessing the Digital Platform with the use of Debit / Credit Cards, Mobile Paperless Ticketing and Payment through Digital Wallets. Point of Sale (PoS) Machines are put up at Ticket Counters, Parcel Office, Cloak Room, Food Court, Parking Stand, Retiring Rooms, Pre-paid AC Waiting Hall, Tea Stalls, Fruit and Juice Centres, Catering Units, Book Stall, Dairy Parlour etc.,
The General Manager, SCR, Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav in his address said that the zone has initiated this step to fulfill the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu towards spreading the use of Digital payment and ensure cashless transactions. The General Manager called this step as a magnificent outcome of imbibing technology to enable a Digital friendly Cashless society. Transforming Kacheguda to a DigiPay Railway Station is a huge step forward in terms of signifying the co-operation amongst various stake holders, he added. The concept of DigiPay Station is to empower the passengers to go for digital transactions for any requirement. This beginning will set the momentum for transforming 10 more stations as DigiPay Stations on SCR in Phase-I, followed by all other A1 & A category stations in a phase wise manner, the General Manager informed.
The General Manager complimented the licensee of various facilities / stalls at Kacheguda for pro-actively coming forward in the success of this endeavor. Although it was not mandatory in the contract for the licensees to provide for Digital PoS machine payment option, they came forward to join hands with Railways, which reflected their concern for a National cause. The efforts and continuous interaction that the Railway officials of Hyderabad Division had with the licensees, led to the results, the General Manager opined. The initiative of Andhra Bank in providing Point of Sales (PoS) machines to the required extent at the station was instrumental in shaping the plans of SCR to make Kacheguda a DigiPay Station. The High Speed WiFi access at Kacheguda provided by Rail Tel which serves the purpose of undertaking Digital Transactions also came in for praise from the General Manager.
In tune with the festive atmosphere at the launch, College students broke into a Flash Mob Dance in the circulating area of the station, swaying to Music set for lyrics highlighting the development and modernization of Railways. A Signature Campaign – Signing up to identify with the Digital Payment initiative met good response Citizens and Rail Users. Selfie Boards propagating Kacheguda as DigiPay Station also attracted people, in particular the youth a lot. The General Manger visited the Stalls on the Platform and also made Digital Payment Transaction for purchase made, to formally signify the rise in the status of Kacheguda as DigiPay Railway Station.

Railways have stepped in to quickly transport the bumper harvest of the famed red Nashik onions by operating an additional freight train from today. The new rake will further enhance the carrying capacity of onions by 30 per cent and will be in addition to the existing three freight trains operated by Central Railways to carry the bulbs from Nashik. the kitchen staple.
A railway official said the orders to operate the rake came from Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, in view of the huge production of the bulb this year. “Railway is providing four rakes for onion farmers to dispatch onion to hinterland (three for Central Railway destinations and one for South Central Railway destination). As per the directives of the Minister for Railways, one more rake will be made available from February 20 for onion farmers for sending their produce to the markets,” the senior officer Narendra Patil told PTI.
Onion farmers have yielded a bumper crop which is almost double than the previous year. “Railways are already providing 50 per cent extra goods trains than last year. (The new rake) will further enhance the carrying capacity of onion by 30 per cent,” he said, adding the onions will be transported to northern, eastern, northeastern and east coast parts of country, which will maximise the markets for farmers.
