The 1.8 Kilometers long Hardinge bridge over the Padma river, on privious Calcutta ( Sealdah ) - siliguri railway line. It was built in 1912 by British engineer Sir Robert Gailes and named after Lord Hardinge; the Viceroy of India from 1910 to 1916. 1950 , Darjeeling Mail & other Northbengal , Assam bound train ran through the bridge. Now Kolkata - dhaka maitree exp use that bridge to reach Dhaka .. . Source : click here
