Ceramic city Morbi has no daily trains for Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Only weekly 15667, 22952 and Wankaner Demu trains run on the WKR MALB route. People working in ceramic factories and locals have to catch trains from Rajkot, Wankaner, and Ahmedabad.
People are demanding to divert a few of the Bhuj/ Gandhidham trains that run via Halvad to make them run via Morbi.
Morbi generated monthly ₹50 crore revenue for railways from freight transportation of coal, salt, and tiles. It is covered under the Amrit Bharat redevelopment scheme.
