निरीक्षण में मुख्य रेल संरक्षा आयुक्त ने अकबरपुर - अयोध्या कैंट - सुल्तानपुर रेल खंड (कुल लंबाई 119 किमी) के विद्युतीकरण कार्य का विद्युत इंजन WAP-7 से लोको ट्रायल भी किया। इसके अतिरिक्त मुख्य रेल संरक्षा आयुक्त ने अयोध्या कैंट -खजुरहट - कूड़ेभार - सुल्तानपुर खंड पर 110 किमी प्रति घंटा की गति से स्पीड ट्रायल भी किया। इस खंड की वर्तमान गति सीमा 50 किमी प्रति घंटा है जिसे बढ़ाकर 100 किमी प्रति घंटा करने का प्रस्ताव है।
