The single unused line branching out from Ikrah Junction was actually the old Andal-Ikrah-Churulia-Rupnarayanpur branch line. It fell into disuse and was scrapped by iron mafias. The new Brarabani Churulia line route that has been planned doesn't follow this old route. One of the greatest poets of Bengal and freedom fighters, Kazi Nazrul Islam was born in Churulia and used to travel to his hometown via this route.
